Commercial logging continues in Yakutat over the objection of the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe. This winter trees were cut down on an ancient village site. Rock walls were uncovered. But logging continued. Riparian zones that protect our salmon streams and that create vital habitat have been illegally logged. Our cultural survival depends on preserving our tribal lands for generations not yet born. Commercial logging is destroying our sacred sites and salmon streams.
